There's been a lot happening at MJ Studios! Over the coming weeks we will be taking part in the following events:

Saskatoon: October 12-14th 

Woman's World Show - Credit Union Centre

We're excited to be heading to Saskatoon to take part in the 7th annual Woman's World Show this weekend!  This 3 day event promises to focus on the things that women like, want, need or dream about!  It sounds like a blast & we hope to see you there!  Tickets $10 at the door and in advance at participating merchants.  (Free admission for all men accompanied by a woman with a paid ticket!)  Note:  "Red Friday" in support of our troops will allow all paying patrons access to Woman's World for only $5 on Friday, October 12th if they are wearing red shirts!

We've also recently announced that we have teamed with Polka Dot Door Designer Collections, Saskatchewan's first local designer outlet.  Located on the 2nd floor at 1843 Hamilton Street, the Polka Dot Door provides the ideal downtown location for our existing clientele to restock their favourite MJ Pro product and for new clientele to view and shop the collection. 

MJ will be on location approximately every 8 weeks to work one on one with clients, educate and introduce new product launches.  We are extremely proud to be part of such a unique venue and partner with Saskatchewan's first designer outlet.   A grand opening for the Polka Dot Door is scheduled for November 3rd. What is an MJ STUDIOS S.L.U.T.  party?

• We will arrive 30-45 minutes prior to party to set up.
• We will supply a display table with the complete product range as well as a Makeup Artist's Chair for the demonstrations.
• It’s your night to SHINE - "Head S.L.U.T" (the hostess) will receive a complete 2 step makeup application. 

MJ will first provide you with a simple but stunning day look and then watch her transform you into a sassy, sexy DIVA ready for a night out on the town.  During your application and DIVA transformation, MJ will provide step-by-step instruction, education, Pro Artist tips and tricks of the trade.

• We will supply official MJ Studios S.L.U.T. bibles.

MJ is known in the industry for her ability to provide quality education and realistic tips for busy everyday women.  We encourage ladies to make notes along the way, or add colour swatches as they touch, feel and experience the quality of our collection. 

• After the demonstration, MJ will dedicate 15 minutes to each S.L.U.T. (lady) to review their product choices and provide her personal recommendations.

We encourage those needing additional education and application techniques (one on one consultation) to book a personal in-house consultation at this time as well.

• We will bring our mobile payment processor and stock so you and your guests can shop the elite collection.

For hosting the party, "Head S.L.U.T" receives the following:

• Day and evening transformation 
• A complimentary brush from our Specialty Brush Collection.  Choose from a blush brush or fiber optic eyeshadow brush
• A gift certificate for 30% off your next Mineral Powder Foundation purchase (expires 10 months from the party date)
• Purchase your lipstick that evening & receive a complimentary HD Lip Pencil of your choice

Party Details:

Customize your party to suit your needs.  Let us know what kind of party you have in mind. Whether it is a coffee or wine event we suggest you provide some snacks, finger foods and drinks for your guests or ask them to BYOB.  During the demonstration, leave it to us - we will keep your BFF's glasses full!

Optional Additions - If you are interested and if available, we can bring Shirtless Butlers at a cost of $25/hour to be paid directly to the butler.  He will entertain your BFF's and serve and cater to them!

Times Available:

For those in Regina we can arrange for an evening party from 7:00 p.m. to approximately 10:30 pm.  For those within 120 km of Regina an evening party would start at 6:00.

We are also available for afternoon parties for those in Regina or within 120 km of the city.  If you're looking to kick start a ladies night out, let us know what time you'd like to start and we can work around your schedule.

For those interested in hosting a S.L.U.T. party but are 120 km or further away from Regina please contact us to discuss custom arrangements for your party.

For maximum benefit to each of your guests, S.L.U.T. parties are best when limited to a maximum of 8 S.L.U.TS but we can accommodate larger groups, please contact us to discuss options available. 

Cost of a party:

In order for us to attend your party at no charge, we require a minimum group purchase for the evening based on the size of your group.  For small parties (less than 4) we require a minimum group purchase of $150.  For larger parties (5-8) minimum group purchase for the evening is $300.  If the minimum purchase amount is not met, we will issue an invoice to the hostess in that amount.

Travel:  We have a travel rate of $0.37/km.  The first 100 km traveled are on us, so you will only be charged for mileage after that initial 100 km.

Request your party date by emailing AJ.  A non-refundable $25 deposit is required at the time of your booking to hold your date.  This deposit will be deducted from the Head S.L.U.T's purchase.  We accept VISA, MASTERCARD, Money Orders or Email Money Transfer.

Inert earth mineral used as a thickening, whitening, lubricating, and sunscreen ingredient in cosmetics. Along with titanium dioxide, zinc oxide is considered to have no risk of skin irritation. It can also be an anti-irritant and potentially an antioxidant.

TITANIUM DIOXIDE
Categories: Sunscreen Actives, Thickeners/Emulsifiers, Coloring Agents/Pigments
Inert earth mineral used as a thickening, whitening, lubricating, and sunscreen ingredient in cosmetics. It protects skin from UVA and UVB radiation and is considered to have no risk of skin irritation.  Because of its gentleness, titanium dioxide is an excellent sunscreen active for use on sensitive or rosacea-affected skin. It is also great for use around the eyes, as it is highly unlikely to cause stinging in this area.

Although titanium dioxide is a natural ingredient, pure titanium dioxide in nature is almost always adulterated with potentially harmful contaminants such as lead and iron. Therefore, titanium dioxide is purified via synthetic processes for use in cosmetics and sunscreens.

Titanium dioxide is typically micronized and coated for use in cosmetic products. The micronizing makes this somewhat heavy-feeling ingredient easier to spread on skin, not to mention making it more cosmetically elegant. Micronized titanium dioxide is also has much greater stability and can provide better sun protection than non-micronized titanium dioxide. Micronized titanium dioxide does not penetrate skin so there is no need to be concerned about it getting into your body (well, unless you eat the stuff). Even when titanium dioxide nanoparticles are used, the coatings employed have a larger molecular size that keeps the nanoparticles of titanium dioxide from penetrating beyond the uppermost layers of skin.

The coating process is done to improve application, enhance sun protection, and also to prevent titanium dioxide from interacting with other ingredients in the presence of sunlight, thus enhancing its stability. It not only makes this ingredient much more pleasant to use for sunscreen, but it improves efficacy and eliminates safety concerns. Common examples of ingredients used to coat titanium dioxide are alumina, dimethicone, glycerin, silica, and trimethoxy capryl silane.

Titanium dioxide as used in sunscreens also undergoes surface modification to ensure efficacy and stability. Examples of surface modifier ingredients used for titanium dioxide include stearic acid, isostearic acid, polyhydroxystearic acid, and dimethicone/methicone copolymer.

IRON OXIDES

Compounds of iron that are used as colorings in some cosmetics. They also are used as a metal polish called jewelers' rouge, and are well-known in their crude form as rust.

The image on the left shows Andrea with a clean and lightly moisturized face. The image on the right shows her after an application of M2 Radiant Mineral Powder Foundation in shade #10.  Andrea battles an undiagnosed skin condition that may be discoid lupus or rosacea. We opted to use no other colour cosmetics to avoid distraction from the beautiful natural coverage that our pure minerals provide. No primer or additional concealing products were used.

We would like to thank Andrea for the opportunity to work with her. She is truly a beautiful woman both inside and out.
